About Us

Thank you for your interest in the Dundrum, Newcastle and Downpatrick Circuit – our name is a bit of a mouthful but it reflects both the distinct geographic and civic location of our churches, as well as our unity in witness to most of the Down District Council area. Our members live within a few miles of the Co. Down coastline from Killyleagh all the way to Kilkeel.

We are part of the Down District of the Methodist Church in Ireland, a disciple-making movement that is rich in heritage and hopeful about the future. You can read about Methodist Belief on irishmethodist.org, but essentially we’re all about Jesus – God loves the whole world, demonstrated in giving himself sacrificially for us. We love him, want to serve him, and wholeheartedly believe you would want to too!

Our churches are small but believe God has a particular work for us to do – you can see some photos from events and gatherings that have taken place on the circuit in the Photo Gallery.

The other pages of this section contain information about our three churches that gather week-by-week in Dundrum, Newcastle and Downpatrick, as well as their histories (all three have been proclaiming the good news of Jesus Christ for over 175 years) and Saint Patrick, who founded his first church in Saul near Downpatrick.

If you are thinking of paying us a visit in person, or if you’re wondering if you might find a spiritual home here, there are opportunities to worship, witness and grow in wholeness outlined in ‘A Place for You‘.
